JOINT LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION

By Senator Vin Gopal, Assemblyman Eric Houghtaling, and Assemblywoman Joann Downey

WHEREAS, The Senate and General Assembly of the State of New Jersey are pleased to salute Paul Stuart Wichansky, Ph.D., a highly esteemed member of his Garden State community, in grateful recognition of his distinguished record of service; and,

WHEREAS, Dr. Paul Stuart Wichansky, a renowned motivational speaker, has generously shared his insightful stories of resilience underpinned by humor for the past forty years, a remarkable tenure that has included 7,600 school assemblies and conference keynotes presented and more than one million audience members reached; and,

WHEREAS, Born with cerebral palsy and hearing loss, Dr. Paul Stuart Wichansky began publicly speaking at the age of ten and promptly rose in prominence as a captivating speaker who shares an uplifting message of diversity and disability awareness, anti-bullying, and perseverance. Since then, his message of everyday heroism in the face of adversity of all kinds has inspired countless others to realize their full potential and to increase their understanding of the disability community; and,

WHEREAS, Through his industrious spirit and unwavering dedication, Dr. Paul Stuart Wichansky has rightfully earned for himself a sterling reputation; and,

WHEREAS, Within all the spheres of his life and work, Dr. Paul Stuart Wichansky has established a model to emulate and sets a standard of excellence toward which others might strive; and,

WHEREAS, It is altogether proper and fitting for this Legislature to pause in its deliberations to acknowledge Dr. Paul Stuart Wichansky as an individual of strong character and exceptional determination; now, therefore,

WHEREAS, Within all the spheres of his life and work, Dr. Paul Stuart Wichansky has established a model to emulate and sets a standard of excellence toward which others might strive; and,

Be It Further Resolved, That a duly authenticated copy of this resolution, signed by the Senate President and the Assembly Speaker and attested by the Senate Secretary and the Clerk, be transmitted to Paul Stuart Wichansky, Ph.D.

That this Legislature hereby lauds Dr. Paul Stuart Wichansky, pays tribute to his meritorious history of service, leadership, and commitment to our youth, and extends sincere best wishes for his continued success and happiness; and,

Be It Further Resolved, That a duly authenticated copy of this resolution, signed by the Senate President and the Assembly Speaker and attested by the Senate Secretary and the Assembly Clerk, be transmitted to Paul Stuart Wichansky, Ph.D.
